A few days later, a battle with my machine not liking thread and firm backing got to the end . I have tried to replecate the pictures you get of pixelated prints. Finished 25" square. Shading on backgrounf fibre pern and 6B black art pencils.

This has been a real challenge. I even looked up how to create pixels but decided that was a course on it's own. Trawled the until I found a few I thought I could manage.
I have used a bit of mixed media licence. These pictures are the journey so far. Just off to iron them down and then start sewing them together. Considering using invisible thread possibly the dark one. I woke about 1.00am and was so hot I got up and bound my quilt. I had quilted it using my Westerlee Rulers yesterday so was very happy to be nearly there. I finished the bimding early afternoon and now am publishing it for the Challenge.
"Bigger Than a Bread Bin" obviously and American colloquialism I had never heard, but luckily it was explained in the instructions. We have to something at least 17" by 9". Free choice.
After a busy week I got onto it today. Decide to make a variety of simple blocks and assemble them as a "New Style Sampler." By tonight I have the top pieced. Tomorrow hopefully will baste a quilt it. My husband has brought my sewing machine into the Craft Room where I can get benefit from the AC as it is so hot in the studio I can only for short spells/ Have spen quite a lot of my enforced sitting time,as a result of torn calf muscle, doing embroidery on wooden cotton reels and completing the long length I have been assembling to hang from a beautiful big linen reel
The last four days have been so different for me. They have found I have torn my calf muscle so sitting with leg elevated has curtailed much work which means collecting bits and pieces. Decided to continue work on my reel project. I have cotton reeels, a big linen reel and an interesting thre level Indian turning wheel. Stitching strips to surround the reels. O n the linen reel I am making a strip approx 1 metre length so I can put little pieces I want to try and to keep and enjoy. Have made quite a lot of progresss with me enforced restraint in movement.
For PQ Challenge 10.2 Red, White and Blue I chose Summer Berries. This reminds me of a tradiitonal Christmas with raspberries, blue berries and piles of cream! in Grandma's crystal dish.
I made blue yoyos for the berries, machine quilting for the raspberries and a textured background with a floral table cloth. The textured background was inspired by a pattern Marcia Wantuca kindly sent to entrants of Challenge one. Working on Cahallenge 10.2
Have made the components and I am now ready to assemble, Red, White and Blue mean summer fruits to me so here is a serving on blueberries, rapsberries and cream. Yum. I have joined patchwork quilter series 10.
The first challenge 10.1 is Hope Springs Eternal" Mine is "The Pearl of Great Price." You have one week to do this challenge from concept to posting. I am posting it her as I am supposed to bbe able to put a link to their page. I will try but luckily they ahve given another way to do it. 24 hours to close off time! Still not 100% but do have spells where I can work. I have managed to keep up with my monthly postcard swap and have really appreciated the ones I have received for the Kiwi quilters. I will add them to the gallery.
